| Care
& Maintenance |
|
While
a ResinDek® floor provides long-lasting durability,
safety and cleanability, it must be properly installed
and
maintained to avoid costly floor problems, repairs and
hazards that may potentially void all product warranties.
Whether your ResinDek® floor finish is Clear Diamond
Seal®, Gray Diamond Seal® or ESD, the surface
can be
easily cleaned using a damp mop or standard cleaning
solvents without fear of damaging the surface.
Cleaning solutions that have worked particularly well
include
water, diluted isopropyl alcohol, and many off the shelf
detergents and floor cleaners. Never use methylene
chloride or paint thinners, which will damage
ResinDek finishes. Also avoid prolonged soaking,
hosing down, or wetting of all ResinDek products.
ResinDek UF (unfinished) will clean up similar to
other unfinished wood products.
For touching up surface blemishes and scratches
on your
ResinDek Gray Diamond Seal or ESD finish, a can of
color-matched spray paint can be obtained from us.
When using the touch-up paint, be sure to shake the
spray
can for at least 60 seconds for proper color mixing.
For
best results, spray using repeated, light coats of paint
and
allow adequate drying time before resuming floor traffic.
Read all touch-up paint manufacturer labels and
warnings before using resin-based products and work

in
a fully ventilated area with proper protection for
eyes and hands.
For repairing deeper cracks or holes in ResinDek panel
surfaces, it is possible to use standard fiberglass or
polymer
resin patch compound commonly used in auto body repair.
To repair a damaged ResinDek panel surface, mix an
appropriate amount of hardener and resin and apply the
mixture into the damaged area, as directed. Use a putty
knife to spread and skim the surface smooth before the
material hardens. Depending on the depth and size of the
damaged area, more than one application may be required
to build up the patch material at or above the ResinDek
surface level. Allow adequate drying time as directed.
After drying, use 80 grit sandpaper to sand the resin
patch
flush with the ResinDek panel surface. Feather sand the
area,
taking care not to damage the surrounding ResinDek panel
finish.
After sanding the repaired area, apply touch-up paint
as
instructed earlier in this video module. If painting reveals
that
the patched surface is not flat, it may be necessary to
sand
and repaint the area again.

panels, contact us by e-mail or phone (listed above). |
