ResinDek® ESD Finish
ResinDek ESD panels with our Electro-Static Dissipative Finish provide an outstanding static control solution for mezzanine
floors, shelving systems and workstations.
Protect Electrically sensitive devices, such as laptops, barcode scanners, servo-drive motors, and pick-to-light systems
that are common in distribution centers.
Eliminate expensive computer downtime caused by electrical static discharges.
Prevent uncomfortable static shocks to employees with a grounded surface.  ResinDek ESD panels have been
extensively tested by the testing firm of Stephen Halperin & Associates and have been found to be in compliance with
the ESD Association Specifications on back.
ResinDek® ESD complies with the following ANSI/ESD Association specifications:
resindek esd panels
ANSI/ESD S7.1-2005 - Resistive Characterization of Material-Floor Materials.
ANSI/ESD S20.20-2007 - Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies and
Equipment.
ANSI/ESD STM97.1-2006 - Floor Materials and Footwear-Resistance Measurement
in Combination with a Person.
resindek esd testing results
Testing Results are summarized as follows:
    Average point-to-point resistance = 6.6 x 10^6 ohms.
    Average point-to-point resistance = 7.8 x 10^6 ohms.
ResinDek ESD panels generated less than 10 volts with static controlled footwear, and
experienced a rapid voltage decay from 5,000 volts to less than 50 volts in under .50 seconds.
ResinDek ESD also provides a stain, scratch and skid resistant surface that won't delaminate like other decking materials.
It installs easily over corrugated metal B-decking (depending on your panel, use a minimum of 20 ga.) with recommended
fastening systems.
Installation Instructions for Grounding Screws Cross Section
Screws must be flush with deck surface!
1. Install ResinDek® panels using ResinDek® Screws,
    and ResinDek® Installation Instructions.
2. Install four (4) grounding screws per 4'X 8' panel. Larger
panels will require additional grounding screws. Examples of
grounding screw installation patterns can be seen at right.
Distance to the closest screw must not exceed 4', regardless
    of panel size.
3. Take care to install grounding screws flush with top face of
ResinDek® panels, and perpendicular with deck surface.
Screws must be installed a minimum of 1" from all panel
    edges.
4. Be careful not to strip out screws from the corrugated decking.
For best results, use a hand screw gun for installation of
    grounding screws.
Failure to properly install grounding screws will void
the ESD portion of this warranty!

When the world’s #1 direct-sale computer supplier built their 527,000
sq. ft. manufacturing facility in North Carolina, they selected
ResinDek ESD.

The flooring was further enhanced by installing the patented Invisi-Loc®
underside fastening system (see Installation Instructions), which hides
unsightly fasteners.

ResinDek Fastening Systems

We furnish ResinDek top side drill screws and Invisi-Loc® underside fastening
system to enhance structural integrity and appearance of your ResinDek panels.

For conventional topside installations, we offer ResinDek drill screws with
computer color matched heads.

Our Invisi-Loc® underside fastening system secures the fastener heads beneath
the flooring, rather than on top, when smooth floors are preferred.

Pre-punched metal corrugated decking (priced per specific project requirements
only)
establishes the fastener pattern and eliminates metal shaving safety hazards.

We provide innovative solutions to the challenges encountered at distribution
centers worldwide.

I. Invisi-Loc Underside Fastening System

Invisi-Loc® provides showcase mezzanine floors with no visible fasteners that are dependable, inexpensive and easy to install. They reduce installation time in drilling and eliminate metal shaving safety concerns.

The Invisi-Loc fastening system mounts fasteners under mezzanine decking hiding unsightly screw holes on top.

Invisi-Loc fasteners have been tested with over 12 years of simulated pallet jack traffic resulting in no fastener or panel failures. (Tests were based upon 50,000 cycles/12 years of pallet jack wheel traffic at specified ResinDek® loads).

With outstanding holding power, only 24 Invisi-Loc fasteners (see Figure A) are required per 4' x 8' sheet and a standard medium duty air compressor supplies the required power.

All installation tools can be purchased.

Figure A
Invisi-Loc® Underside Fastening System

How it Works:
Corrugated metal decking is pre-punched (priced per specific job requirements
only
) and metal B deck (depending on your panel, use a minimum 20 ga.) is
fastened to the bar joists like other steel decking using drilling screws, pins or
welding.

During installation of mezzanine decking, ResinDek® panels are laid down with
metal panel spacers to properly gap the floor. Special drill bits for pre-drilling the ResinDek® panels to the precise depth and diameter are then used to pre-drill
for the Invisi-Loc fasteners. With weight applied to the top surface, the Invisi-Loc
fasteners are mounted to the underside.

When installed according to specifications the Invisi-Loc Underside Fastening System carries a 7-year warranty.

II. ResinDek Top Side Drill Screws
For conventional top side screw installation, use ResinDek Drill Screws. These screws are engineered for strength,
durability and easy installation.

Stout #10 wire gauge shafts.
#2 drilling screws easily pierce up to 12 gauge steel decking.
Zinc coating for high humidity environments resists corrosion.
Designed to drill through wood and steel decking prior to threads
engaging, which prevents panels from lifting.
Wings near top of shaft counterbore for screwheads. No countersinking
or pre-drilling is required.
Easy to drive and better tool life with #2 square drive heads.
Color matched to ResinDek® finishes.
Can be installed with upright screw guns.

ResinDek screws should be installed at a rate of 20 per 4' x 8'
sheet, in a pattern similar to Figure B shown above. The tongue
and groove should be perpendicular to the deck whenever
possible.

Fire Treatment
ResinDek® panels are classified as interior floor finishes, and as such, require no fire treatment for either storage or industrial
use occupancies, which covers Mezzanines, Pick Modules, and Industrial Equipment Platforms. Code Officials from the
IBC have verified this information for us.

If necessary, we can furnish ASTM-E-84 flame tunnel test data for ResinDek panels. However, this data is based upon
flame that is applied directly to the panels from below, with no protection. The corrugated metal is a non-combustible
surface that will keep this flame from reaching the underside of the ResinDek panels.  Additionally, if there is an actual fire
from below, the un-insulated corrugated metal roof deck will collapse from heat stress long before the ResinDek panels
can catch fire. ResinDek is not a structural part of the floor. The corrugated and the bar joists are designed to carry the
entire load.

IBC 804.5 lays out two additional requirements for interior floor finishes. Specifically, interior floor finishes are required to
meet Class I or Class II ratings for Critical Radiant Flux, and are also required to pass the DOC FF-1 "Pill Test".
ResinDek Panels pass both of these tests.

In the field, many of our customer have presented this information to local building officials, and have been successful in
getting the requirement for fire treated wood decking removed.
